Dr. Uhorchak is a graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point, and Albany Medical College. After residency at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, he completed the John A. Feagin Sports Medicine Fellowship at Keller Army Community Hospital.

Dr. Uhorchak was on staff at Keller for the last 12 years of his 28 year US Army career serving as Chief of Orthopedics, Chief of the Department of Surgery, and Team Physician for many Division I and numerous intramural sports teams.

At Keller Army Hospital, Dr. Uhorchak was actively engaged in clinical research, presenting numerous papers and authoring/co-authoring dozens of peer reviewed articles. He was lead author on the study “Risk Factors Associated with Non Contact ACL injuries: A Four-year Prospective Analysis of 859 West Point Cadets, “ which received the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine's (AOSSM) 2002 O’Donoghue Excellence in Sports Injury Research Award and the American Journal of Sports Medicine Best Publication Hughston Award for 2004.

Dr. Uhorchak treated soldiers in war zones in Somalia, Afghanistan and Iraq. He earned numerous military awards including the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Combat Medical Badge, Ranger Tab, Parachute Badge, and the US Army Surgeon Generals “A” designator and the Order of Medical Merit.

He is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery and sub-specialty certified in Orthopedic Sports Medicine and has a strong interest in knee, shoulder, and arthroscopic surgery. Dr. Uhorchak is a member of the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
