Ronald Gonzalez, D.O.
Dr. Gonzalez attended Kean University, where he received his bachelor of arts BA in Athletic Training, with a minor in Biology. After working as an athletic trainer, he attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ-School of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his orthopedic residency there. Dr. Gonzalez completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center before joining Orthopedics and Sports Medicine P.C.
Dr. Gonzalez has been involved in several clinical research projects, which have been presented at the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and The New Jersey Orthopedic Society.
His publications include a study on the safety of driving after hand surgery. And, he is currently working on a clinical study about ulnar nerve entrapment.
Dr. Gonzalez’s specializes in sports injuries, trauma and degenerative conditions of the hand, shoulder and elbow, including microsurgery. He has special interests in arthroscopic surgery of the wrist, elbow, and shoulder.
Dr. Gonzalez began his interest in medicine during his days of playing football, which lead him to a career in athletic training. During his tenure as an athletic trainer, he had the privilege of working at the oldest tennis club in the United States, The New Orleans Tennis Club established in 1890. Dr. Gonzalez believes that an active lifestyle is vital to ones health and integrates this philosophy in his practice of orthopedics. Dr. Gonzalez and his young family are delighted to be back in the tri-state area.
