Teresa M. Orton, F.N.P., R.N.F.A.
Teresa Orton attended Dutchess Community College and SUNY New Paltz for her undergraduate studies. She has held staff and administrative nursing positions in both the hospital and home care settings, and she has taught at Dutchess Community College in both the Nursing program and the Emergency Medical Services program. Ms. Orton earned her Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner from Pace University in 2001. After graduation, she worked as a Nurse Practitioner in the Emergency Department of St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie and the Arden Hill Campus of Orange Regional Medical Center. She then joined Warwick Valley Orthopedics, developing an Osteoporosis Treatment and Prevention Program during her tenure there. Ms. Orton has brought the Osteoporosis Program to Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, P.C. She is a recognized speaker on Osteoporosis Treatment and Prevention.
Ms. Orton is an active volunteer member for the Society for Hospitals and Resources Exchange. Through SHARE, she has traveled to Kenya, working with both the Kenyan government and SHARE sponsored programs to help improve health care in that country.
Ms. Orton is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the New York State Nurse Practitioner Association, the National Osteoporosis Foundation, and the National Association of Orthopedic Nurses. She is certified as an RN First Assist and holds National Board Certification from the American Nurse’s Credentialing Center.
